Walsh calls her genre Alter-Quirky (alternative and quirky); Acoustic easy listening incorporating ukulele, guitar, flute, vocals, percussion and much more! Everything you hear was played, recorded/mixed/mastered, and written by Walsh given these exceptions of collaboration:
Album: Green, Track: Masquerade. Kelsey Leahy on oboe, composed by Walsh.
Album: Forced Forsythia, Track: Secondhand Smoke. Composed in collaboration with former band Indie Kid What, members including Miranda Godfrey, Emily Hardy, Meg Reaves (and Walsh).

Maddy Walsh doubles as a singer-songwriter with two CDs available to the public. She released her second album in October 2018, Green, on iTunes, Spotify, SoundCloud, Google Play, CDBaby, Tidal, iHeart Radio and more. She recorded, mixed and mastered the entire album by herself.

The first EP she released in high school is titled Madeleine. This CD includes an original using guitar titled Inferno. The next song is a ukulele cover of Zee Avi's Honeybee. Track three is an a capella cover of Bon Iver's Skinny Love. The last two songs are live from Walsh's high school flute senior thesis. The first is a lovely jazzy tune written by Walsh titled The Jealousy of the Sun. The CD wraps up with a cover of Greg Pattillo's Three Beats for Beatbox Flute. The CD is available for $5 through contacting Maddy Walsh.

Her latest full length album, forced forsythia, is available now everywhere and CDs can be purchased for $10 by contacting Walsh.

Lyrics to Forced Forsythia:

1. Hey, Black Cat

Hey, black cat, won’t you peak out of the azalea bushes at around noon.

I brought you some milk in hopes that you’ll keep coming back. Hey black cat.

Hey, black cat, you’re my best friend. I’ll love you until the very end.

Come into my world, make yourself at home. You know you’ve got a place here on my lap.

Hey black cat. Hey, black cat.

I thought you were a stray, ready to be taken away,

but it turned out like it always does when everybody has someone else. Oh, hey, black cat.

Hey, black cat, you still keep coming back.

I know you’re not mine, but you’re still my best friend. Hey, black cat.

You know you’ve always got a place here on my lap. Hey, black cat.

Hey, hey, hey, black cat. Hey, black cat.

Hey, black cat, I haven’t seen you in a minute.

There’s a paw under a leaf, a nose stuck in a bush across the way.

I turn and I run. What’s been seen cannot be undone.

I know what’s happened to my dear friend the black cat. I loved you to the very end.

She knows she’s always got a place here on my lap. Hey, black cat.

Hey, hey, hey, hey, black cat. Hey, black cat. Hey, black cat.

2. Thanks for not Saying Hi

The other day I was walking. I was walking.

I saw you on the corner over there. Thanks for not saying hi.

The other day I was walking (Oh I was, oh I was).

I was walking. I saw you on the corner over there. Thanks for not saying hi.

(So you wanna do this thing?)

You can’t take this from me. I want it more. You can’t take this from me. I want it more.

You can’t take this from me. I want it more. You can’t take this from me. I want it more.

(Can I get my stuff back? I really want my stuff back. Can I get my stuff back? I really want my stuff back.)

You can’t take this from me. I want it more. You can’t take this from me. I want it more.

(Can I get my stuff back? I really want my stuff back. Can I get my stuff back?)

The other day I was walking. I was walking I saw you on the corner over there. Thanks for not saying hi.

(You can’t take this from me. I want it more. You can’t take this from me. I want it more.)

(Can I get my stuff back? I really want my stuff back. Can I get my stuff back? I really want my stuff back.)

The other day I was walking. I was walking. I saw you on the corner over there. Thanks for not saying hi.

(You can’t take this from me. I want it more. You can’t take this from me. I want it more.)

3. Interlude 1: Don’t Wait

Don’t wait, just state why you’re here and then go way. Yes, go away.

I just was starting to forget that you were alive.

Not that I thought you were dead; I simply forgot you existed.

Don’t wait, just state why you’re here and then go away. Yes, go away.

Don’t wait. Just state why you’re here and then go away. Yes, go away.

Yes, go away. Go away. Yes, go away. Don’t wait.

4. Delicate Storm

Get up, come on, get out of bed. Get up, come on, it’s all in your head.

Yesterday is yesterday, today is today, so get up, come on, get out of bed, you sleepy head.

Get up, come here and look at the sky. It looks ominous from our left to our right.

This could be your chance to question authority. Why don’t you ask this delicate storm about eternity?

Get up, come on, get out of bed. Get up, come on, it’s all in your head.

Yesterday is yesterday, today is today, so get up, come on, get out of bed, you sleepy head.

I know you see that you’re setting yourself up for failure, but you can’t seem to help it.

But if you come with me and see all the things that you could be. The first step is just simply getting up.

Come on, get out of bed. Get up, come on, it’s all in your head.

Yesterday is yesterday, today is today, so get up, come on, get out of bed, you sleepy head.

The worst you’ve done isn’t all that bad. Don’t beat yourself up, you’ll just be sad.

You’re not such a terrible person; everyone has something that they’ve done.

To get better, we just have to try. We’re only human.

Get up, get out of bed. Get up, come on, it’s all in your head.

Yesterday is yesterday, today is today, so get up, come on, get out of bed, you sleepy head.

5. Princess of Nova Scotia

Princess of Nova Scotia will you spread your wings or spread your roots?

Don’t you worry things will turn out okay, or at least that’s what they say.

What will you do? Where will you go? Will you stay here or will you go far?

I can create currents with my body matching the chaos inside me.

You can go and be where anywhere, anywhere you have no ties.

Princess, princess, princess of Nova Scotia.

6. Everything is Fine

This feeling burns like alcohol. Can’t do anything to make it calm.

Like cheap wine, but I don’t feel so fine.

My shoes are falling off at their heels. Guess it’s time to buy new ones.

Nevermind, I’ll glue these like I do… all the time.

Everything, everything is fine. Everything, everything is fine.

Everything, everything is fine. Everything, everything is fine.

Let me be, let me be honest. I have way too high expectations for myself,

and far too low for those around me.

I am easily discouraged, but hardly. I can be resilient at the same time. Just watch me.

Everything, everything is fine. Everything, everything is fine.

Everything, everything is fine. Everything, everything is fine.

Everything, everything is fine. Everything, everything is fine.

Oh everything, everything is fine. Oh, everything, everything is fine.

Everything, everything is fine. Everything, everything is fine.

Everything, everything is fine. Everything, everything is fine.

Everything, everything is fine. Everything, everything is fine.

Everything, everything is fine.

7. Know No- flutebox piece, no lyrics

8. Alleyoop

I want to leave, but I can’t, want to cry, but I don’t. I want to leave, but I can’t, want to cry, but I don’t.

So leave me out to die here, honey, for hours at a time.

Leave me for the wolves to get me. They’ll have to wait in line.

Step by step a wolf approaches and says, “How do you do? Won’t you come home with me; I know you’ll make a great stew.”

The other wolves wait patiently for a taste of the prize while you are inside safely having the time of your life.

Then three wolves come creeping closer, scaring off the first. They plop right down next to me, engulf me with their words.

It is best not to repeat them; it was not that kind. I tried to leave, but they said that they would surely find me.

I want to leave, but I can’t, want to cry, but I don’t. I want to leave, but I can’t, want to cry, but I don’t.

So leave me out to die here, honey, for hours at a time. Leave me for the wolves to get me. They’ll have to wait in line.

Don’t apologize; I know you have a whole ‘nother life that does not include me, and trust me,

I’m fine with that, but don’t put my life in danger.

You left me all alone just to have another night of fun while I’m out here almost done with.

Don’t apologize, I know you have a whole ‘nother life that does not include me, and trust me,

I’m fine with that, but don’t put my life in danger.

You left me all alone just to have another night of fun while I’m out here almost done with.

I want to leave, but I can’t, want to cry, but I don’t. I want to leave, but I can’t, I can’t, I could, I could leave right now.

Want to cry, but I don’t. I want to leave, but I can’t, want to cry, but I don’t.

9. Speak Up

Speak up I can’t hear you, whatcha trying to say.

It’s okay if your strength is chipping away.

It’s natural to want to hide away.

Don’t want to overstay; I’m on my way, my get away.

Wanna wanna wanna go away away away away away away away away away.

Wanna wanna wanna go away away away away away away away away away.

Don’t wanna decay no more; wanna tell my story.

I want to raise my voice, make some noise; it’s what I’m here for.

Don’t wanna decay no more; wanna tell my story.

I want to raise my voice, make some noise; it’s what I’m here for.

I’ll stand tall even after I fall.

Overall confidence will be my protocol once and for all.

I’ll stand tall, even after I fall.

I wanna raise my voice and make some noise.

SPEAK UP!

10. Interlude 2: The Start is the End- instrumental

11. Secondhand Smoke (written in collaboration with former band Indie Kid What members including Miranda Godfrey, Emily Hardy, and Meg Reaves)

My favorite is when people walk by and they're so caught up in their minds

that they don't even see me, I'm invisible without trying.

It seems like time has flown or am I just all alone?

I can feel, I can feel, I can feel you forgetting me.

Do you ever wonder how many doors are closing at any moment in time?

It's not falling if you jump, right? From womb to tomb.

Reception desk of my mind. expectations ruin everything.

Deep down inside, I'm shallow.

We live in a ghost town baby where you can still smell the cigarettes (secondhand smoke, secondhand smoke)

Each tiny freckle that you have connects to create an endless consolation of your soul

You are the secondhand smoke, you are the secondhand smoke. You are, you are.

You are the secondhand smoke, you are the secondhand smoke. You are, you are.

Emotionally homeless, emotionally homeless, emotionally homeless, emotionally homeless.

12. Ana

Don't punish me for doing my best to achieve something.

You come around when I least expect you, when you know it'll hurt the most.

Ana go away. Ana don't fight me. Ana go away, Ana don't fight me.

You make me hide from everyone, don't wanna be alone.

Thought I deserved better, everyone deserves better.

Ana go away. Ana don't fight me. Ana go away, Ana don't fight me.

You come around.
